Compared with the time women created by lu Yin and feng yuanjun,ling shuhua's novels mostly show ordinary women.Miss,wife,wife,these characters are frequent visitors to her novels,and ling shuhua expressed the difficult living conditions of women in the period of cultural transition through her novels.Using gender theory and cultural research methods,this paper attempts to seek the cultural significance and value embodied in ling shuhua's novels from the perspective of the gender writing and cultural identity of ling shuhua's novels,and to show the unique gender writing of ling shuhua under the joint action of Chinese and western cultures.The cultural identity here refers to the identification tendency of traditional Confucian culture or western culture embodied in ling shuhua's novels.Through the conflict and collision between traditional thoughts and western thoughts on the characters,the novel not only describes the fate of the characters but also reflects the embarrassing situation of the characters in the period of cultural transformation.This paper includes an introduction and four chapters.The introduction summarizes the origin,research status,research significance and methods of the topic.The four chapters of the main part analyze the gender writing and cultural identity in the work according to the influence of Chinese and western culture accepted by ling shuhua,the identity of the daughter and the wife in the novel,and the last chapter analyzes the cultural value embodied in ling shuhua's novels.The first chapter focuses on ling shuhua in the cultural transformation,respectively from the family environment,social and cultural environment two parts to explain ling shuhua's early experience and the acceptance of Chinese and western culture,in order to illustrate her life experience on her creative impact.The second chapter explains the daughter's identity and cultural identity.This chapter divides the daughter into three kinds of identities according to whether the daughter is exposed to new ideas in the novel: the guixiu,the daughter who is half new and half old,and the female student.Through the series of changes of daughter images,the changes of women in the period of cultural transition were revealed: namely,the activity space was enlarged,the influence of new ideas on them was gradually deepened,and they began to realize that the traditional Confucian culture they recognized could not cope with the new society.In general,the daughter in ling shuhua's novel lacks the sense of "self".Even as a female student,she fails to have a real "self".The third chapter explains the wife's identity and cultural identity.According to the wife's status in the marriage,this chapter divides the wife into two types: the old wife and the new wife.Old wives identified with Confucian culture,new wives identified with western culture.The change of wife image reflects the function of Chinese and western culture.The change of wife image reflects the change of female ideology under the impact of old and new culture.Through the transformation of his wife's image,ling shuhua showed that although women had a sense of "self" in marriage,they still could not get rid of the shackles of the family,their awakening was limited,and the strength of ideological emancipation needed to be improved.The fourth chapter focuses on analyzing the cultural value of ling shuhua's novels,and elaborates on the realistic expression of the cultural identity crisis,the cultural choice and the significance of cultural identity.The conclusion of the article further elaborates that ling shuhua,with the help of gender writing and cultural identity in the novel,conveys the survival problems of women in the "May 4th" cultural transition period and the limitation of new ideas on female liberation.By studying the gender and culture of ling shuhua's works,this paper hopes to enlighten people and inspire them to think about the unique significance of women's liberation during the May 4th movement.
