The Acceptance And Spread Of "New Culture" In Shaanxi In The 1920s

Taking the "May 4th" New Culture Movement in Shaanxi in the 1920 s as the research object,this paper explores the acceptance and dissemination in the development of new cultural carriers such as bookstores,newspapers and summer schools in Shaanxi Province at the specific time and space in the 1920 s.Compared with the new cultural movements in center cities,Shaanxi's practice in the 1920 s showed unique local characteristics in the common cultural characteristics.Some Shaanxi intellectuals actively participated in new cultural activities.Their new cultural achievements in Shaanxi,to some extent,had even played a positive role in new cultural center cities.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the paper is divided into the following four parts:The first part introduces the development of modern media such as publishing industry,newspapers and periodicals in Shaanxi from the late Qing Dynasty to 1920 s.The main research subjects are Liu Guyu's Weijing Publications,periodicals like Qin Long and Xia Sheng,newspapers such as Chang'an Daily and Guxin Daily,which depict the new culture in Shaanxi from the late Qing Dynasty to 1920 s.In the development of these new cultural practices,we will thoroughly study the acceptance of new culture in Shaanxi during this period.The second part introduces the development of education in Shaanxi.After the collation and analysis of the relevant historical materials about Northwest UniversityShaanxi's first university in the modern sense,and the specific exploration on the two large summer schools in 1923 and 1924,this paper discusses the development of new education in Shaanxi during this period.The third part refers to the occurrence of new literature in Shaanxi.The literary achievements of Shaanxi local new style poems,Yisu community's dramas,new essays and so on,are studied as an access to the development of new literature in the middle and late 1920 s in Shaanxi Province.The fourth part summarizes the significance,characteristics and deficiencies of the spread of Shaanxi new culture.It sheds much light on the development of early Marxist thoughts in Shaanxi,and takes Co-advance community as a research subject to clarify the acceptance and dissemination of socialist thoughts there.In conclusion,this paper uses a large number of empirical studies methods,draws onthe existing new cultural research paradigm,and finally explores the new cultural space and new literary ecology of Shaanxi in the 1920 s.Under the analysis of Shaanxi publishing industry,education,new literature and Marxist thoughts in the 1920 s,it tries to restore the specific historical context of the new cultural movement in the 1920 s in Shaanxi,and restudies the spread of new culture in Shaanxi in the 1920 s,further enriching The May Fourth Movement of New Culture Movement and Regional Literature Studies.
