Research On The Formation And Function Of The Chinese Negative Result Mark "Wan Le(??)"

The word�wan le(??)�in modern Chinese is grammaticalized at a relatively late time,which is especially in natural spoken language.It has important theoretical significance and application value to conduct comprehensive and systematic research.Based on the perspective of cognitive linguistics,this paper summarizes the results of the previous research and the corpus of the investigation,and takes the negative result mark�wan le(??)�as the research object,and then conducts research on the motivation and mechanism of its formation and production,the adaptation conditions and functions,and its variants.Firstly,through a diachronic investigation of the re-description of its lexical process and grammaticalization trajectory,this paper finds that the negative result of�wan le(??)�first appeared in the Qing Dynasty,which experienced lexicalization and grammaticalization,and finally became a negative result mark.Secondly,this paper explores the motivation and mechanism of the negative result meaning and the main motivation for inducing the negative result meaning�wan le(??)�:pragmatic wear,and its production mechanisms:reanalysis and contextual impact.On the basis of this,the adaptation conditions and functions of the negative result mark�wan le(??)�are examined.From a cognitive point of view,the negative result mark�wan le(??)�in the subjective non-interactive genre and the lingering context fully highlights its negative expectation and explicit function.From the perspective of the chapter,the negative result mark�wan le(??)�plays a coherent function between the external structure and the text contents.Finally,the features and functions of variants(the iterative�wan le(??)�and the reiterative�wan le(??)�)are described and analyzed.The correlation between the use of the variant of the negative result marker�wan le(??)�and the deepening of the negative result meaning are further examined,which are explained from a cognitive perspective.
