On The Study Of Formation And Function Of Discourse Marker "FanZheng"

Adverb “FanZheng” in the modern Chinese is used very often.And shows semantic demonization during the speaking Chinese, alsohas formed the function of discourse marker. We plan to observe theformation of the “FanZheng” discourse marker on the base of itsdistribution and semantic. Furthermore, we will expose the specificfunction of “FanZheng” discourse marker in the speaking Chinese.The preface selects the meaning and purpose of this paper, thecurrent research status, the scope and methods, etc.The second chapter, we examine the distribution of “FanZheng”.Found the distribution of “FanZheng” is flexible and usually locatedbefore the other adverbs, such characteristics has proved the possibilityof further grammaticalization; finally we discuss the pragmatic functionof “FanZheng” from the expression function, evaluation function andstress function three aspects.In the third chapter, we examines the diachronic evolution ofsemantic function of “FanZheng”, to determine the basic semanticfunction is" echoes to the conditions"; then we focuses on the semanticfunction evolution in the synchronic plane, to summarize the “FanZheng1, FanZheng2, FanZheng3” and sort out the evolution path; finally wesummarized three different “FanZheng” in semantic background.The fourth chapter,we study FanZheng” in the conversation,found “Anyway” undergoes the scope expanding and subjectivity, andhave already produced the function of discourse markers. on thecorpus of peoplesDaily, WangShuo anthology and the recording ofchat show,we states the frequency and function distribution in thethree corpus.“FanZheng4” usually found in the unprepared speech, inwhich, functions of discourse markers “FanZheng4” shows a morecomplex state. In the fifth chapter, we investigate “FanZheng4” in the realconversation. Found in the textual function,“FanZheng” is used to “fill inthe blank”,“the end marker”; in the interpersonal function,“FanZheng4” can express key information, help the listener’scomprehension. In reply,“FanZheng4” also can be used to escapeanswer questions which they may not clear.“FanZheng4” can be usedfor the vague answer; in the context adaptation function,“FanZheng4”mainly used in the “defense context” which can be divided into dispute,persuade, fluke mind and several other categories.The last chapter is the conclusion and discussion, this paperdraws some conclusions, put forward this paper writing is insufficientand needs further research.
