Vanishing Regional Cultures-Study On The Current Situation Of Contemporary Art In Guizhou

This paper adopts the research method of pedigree and comparison to conduct an in-depth study and review of representative artists of the Mesozoic era in guizhou,so as to reflect on and discuss the dilemma faced by contemporary art in guizhou.Starting from the geographical landform and cultural environment of guizhou,this paper reveals the special cultural soil needed to form the "guizhou fine arts phenomenon",and the influence of this phenomenon on the contemporary art of guizhou in the 1990 s and after.This paper focuses on the artistic creation of representative contemporary artists of guizhou such as li ge,dong zhong and pu ling,so as to further analyze and study the current situation and problems of contemporary art in guizhou.By reviewing the process of contemporary art in guizhou,this paper makes clear a basic status quo of contemporary art in guizhou: contemporary art in guizhou is currently in an awkward transition period,that is,when local regional culture disappears completely,it fails to fully integrate into the global context.The excavation of local ethnic culture by guizhou artists reached its peak in the 1980 s with the "guizhou fine arts phenomenon".The older generation of artists like dong kejun and pu guochang re-translated and created it in a modernist way based on the local ethnic culture.However,it is hard to see obvious ethnic elements in the works of artists of the Mesozoic era who were active in guizhou after the 1990 s.This is because they are the first generation of guizhou artists who grew up completely under the background of modern cultural thoughts.In the wave of globalization,the power of root culture is gradually weakening.At the same time,due to the influence of mountain culture,marginal region,economic development and other factors,the group of artists in the Mesozoic era appeared single and conservative in the exploration of new cultural resources,so that their works were mostly presented as the expression of individual inner narrative experience.Under the tide of globalization,it is a good strategy to prepare for a rainy day.In the future development,artists in guizhou can try to put themselves in the context of globalization and welcome and face the coming conditions with a more positive attitude.In this process,on the one hand,they need to further broaden the artistic language and media,on the other hand,they need to have a deeper reflection and exploration of their own living conditions and local cultural resources,trying to respond to social and cultural issues in a more urgent and sharp way.
