Sui and Tang Dynasty was an important turning point in the development of Imperial Censors. It not only inherited the Imperial Censors system of the fo rmer dynasty, but also formulated the Imperial Censors system in line with the political conditions during these periods. In the Tang Dynasty, the Imperial Censors had developed to maturity. The main full-time Admonishers were set up in Tang Dynasty, and their functions and powers were clear. The Tang Dynasty was generally a dynasty that paid attention to admonishing and respected Imperial Censors. In order to have a more comprehensive understanding of Sui and Tang Dynasty's Imperial Censors, this paper mainly starts from the following parts:The first part is the Imperial Censors of the Sui Dynasty. The Imperial Censors of Sui Dynasty mainly inherited the Imperial Censors of Han and Wei Dynasty, including all the officials of Jishu Province in Han and Wei Dynasty. However, unlike the Han and Wei Dynasties, the Sui Dynasty Imperial Censors were subordinate to the Menxia Province and re-introduced Jishu Province into the province. In addition, the Sui Dynasty was a dynasty that did not attach importance to Imperial Censors and admonishes, especially the Sui Dynasty. When Emperor Wen and Emperor Yang of Sui Dynasty adjusted their official system, theygradually abolished the establishment of the Imperial Censors of Sui Dynasty. The second part is the general situation of the Imperial Censors in Tang Dynasty. In the Tang Dynasty,as in the Sui Dynasty, the Imperial Censors were originally subordinate to the Menxia provinces. However, with the further maturity of the Three provincial systems,Imperial Censors have also been set up in Zhongshu Province. The Imperial Censors in Tang Dynasty mainly consisted of four full-time Imperial Censors, namely,Sanqichangshi,Jianyidafu,Buque and Shiyi.Among them,Buque and Shiyi were newly established Imperial Censors in Tang Dynasty. The settings of Buque and Shiyi were caused by the unique political environment at that time. Many poets in the Tang Dynasty held these two positions, and thus created a new style of poetry. The main duty of the Imperial Censors in Tang Dynasty was to admonished the emperor. There are two main types of transfer of Imperial Censors in Tang Dynasty. One is the transfer of low-level Imperial Censors to high-level Imperial Censors, the other is the transfer according to seniority. From the beginning of the establishment of the Tang Dynasty's Imperial Censors, their duty, posts and institutions were constantly changing. The third part is the relationship between the test of good and able men promoted by selection and Advise frankly and Tang Dynasty'sImperial Censors.Opening of the test of good and able men promoted by selection and Advise frankly, which shows that in the middle and late Tang Dynasty, imperial power was constantly marginalized under the exclusion of eunuchs, prime ministers andTang Dynasty military governor forces. The imperial censors under the control of the prime minister have been unable to perform their duties normally. At the same time, the test of good and able men promoted by selection and Advise frankly an a examinations, which were set up in the Tang Dynasty for the purpose of specially selecting candid and critical talents, had a direct connection with the Imperial Censors. The test of good and able men promoted by selection and Advise frankly about the criteria for selecting talents, which are the criteria for the Imperial Censors. The test of good and able men promoted by selection and Advise frankly about the content of the exam is what the Imperial Censors needs to be admonished.
