Objective:To explore the mediating role of self-supporting behavior between parent-child relationship and school bullying in single parental children.Methods:In the first study,senior primary school students in some areas of Hunan Province were tested with the general information questionnaire for single-parental children,the parent-child intimacy scale revised by Zhang Jintao,the self-supporting behavior scale for children aged 6-12 compiled by Ling Hui and the Olweus bullying/victimization Questionnaire revised by Zhang Wenxin and others.2786 questionnaires were sent out,2681 questionnaires were recovered,and 2596questionnaires were valid,with an effective recovery rate of 93%.Among them,237(9.1%)were single-parental children and 2359(90.9%)were intact-family children.In the second study,semi-structured interviews were conducted with four children belong to different types of school bullying involvement.Results:Study 1:(1)The scores of parent-child relationship and self-supporting behavior of single-parental children were significantly lower than those of children in intact families(t=-6.55,p<0.001;t=-3.01,p<0.01),and the degree of being bullied was significantly higher than that of children in intact families(?~2=10.646,p<0.001);(2).The bullying rates of single-parental children(29.5%)and being bullied(57%)were statistically different in gender(?~2=8.009,?~2=9.207,p<0.01);(3)There were significant differences in self-supporting behavior among single-parental children from different types of school bullying involvement(F=5.832,p<0.001).The level of self-supporting of children without involvement was significantly higher than that of children being bullied and children who were both bullied and bullied others;(4)There was a significant positive correlation between parent-child relationship and self-supporting behavior(r=0.31,p<0.001),a significant negative correlation between parent-child relationship and bullying(r=-0.15,p<0.05),a significant negative correlation between parent-child relationship and being bullied(r=-0.15,p<0.05),a significant negative correlation between self-supporting behavior and bullying(r=-0.28,p<0.001),a significant negative correlation between self-supporting behavior and being bullied(r=-0.24,p<0.001);(5)After having controlled gender,the self-supporting behavior of single-parental children played a complete mediating role between parent-child relationship and bullying,parent-child relationship and being bullied.Study 2:The good parent-child relationship of single-parental children was an important prerequisite for their self-supporting behavior,and the level of self-supporting behavior development affected their coping style in the face of school bullyingConclusion:(1)Single-parental children are more vulnerable to being bullied than intact-family children;(2)The rate of bullying and being bullied of single-parental children are significantly different in different genders.Relatively,boys are more likely to bully others and be bullied by others;(3)The higher the quality of parent-child relationship,the more likely it is to form a high level of self-supporting behavior under the upbringing of the caregivers,and less involved in school bullying.
