In the 21 st century,the Chinese film market is booming,and the type of film is flourishing.In recent years,the performance of mainland crime films has been particularly eye-catching,and has achieved gratifying results in terms of the number,quality,box office and audience reputation.In the 21 st century,the mainland crime film actively absorbed the creative experience of foreign crime type films,combined the type program with the local context,and carried out various explorations and innovations.The crime film is based on the modern city as the background.The story in crime is based on the conflict between individual and social civilization.It reflects the symptoms of modern civilization and reveals the complexity of humanity,shows the black zone in the modern city.In recent years,crime films in mainland China have reflected the social syndrome or the complexity of human nature.They have increasingly revealed social criticism and humanistic care with a strong sense of self-consciousness,with distinctive existentialism and psychoanalytic characteristics.This paper takes the crime film of the Chinese mainland in the 21 st century as the research object,based on the current development status of crime films in mainland China,combing its development process,and comprehensively applying the aesthetic theories such as existentialism and psychoanalysis combined with the knowledge of film science and narratology.The aesthetics of the subject matter and the aesthetic qualities of artistic expression were analyzed.The introduction part introduces the research background,research status and significance of this topic.The second chapter defines the concept of crime film and combs out the development of crime film in mainland China.The third chapter is the key part of this thesis.From the three aspects of the relationship between man and world,man and man,man and self,combined with the specific film to analyze the aesthetic connotation of the theme of the 21 st century mainland crime film.The fourth chapter discusses the aesthetic characteristics of the 21 st century mainland crime film in terms of artistic expression from the aspects of narrative strategy and audiovisual application.The conclusion part looks forward to the future development of crime films in mainland China.
