A Tentative Study Of The Chuang Tzu's “ The Usage Of The Uselessness”

The idea of “usage of the uselessness ” in “Zhuangzi” is mainly intended to break the boundary between the subject and the object,and to break the perspective limitation of the belief that the human is the subject and temporal is the object.Otherwise,the attitude of human towards the temporal is completely limited to the value of a certain aspect.Even if it breaks the limitation of a certain feature of an object,predicts that time and space are infinite,the world is infinite,and it is not the intention of Zhuangzi to attach significance to the indirect and insignificant features of the object.Advocating using the perspective of the temporal is the integrity to see the temporal,and placing the temporal on the equal level with human should not exist in the concept of “use",otherwise you will not see the diversity of the temporal,so that the maximum individual intrinsic value can be achieved.The philosophers of the past dynasties have different attitudes towards Zhuangzi's “usage of the uselessness” concept,which is mainly due to the different social environments in which philosophers are located.The social problems they face will inevitably affect their differences in their attitudes towards Zhuangzi's “usage of the uselessness” idea.This will have guiding significance to the change of excessively popular “profit-seeking” concept currently in our country.“Everyone knows that all that usage of the uselessness,but few of them knows that useless is also useful.” How to use things to its greatest value is not the original intention of Zhuangzi's “usage of the uselessness” concept.In his view,there is no difference between the temporal and human.The temporal should not only exist as being “used” by the human,but warn people to break the concept of “use” so that the concept of “Tao” can be achieved.Zhuangzi is talking about the “the object” but also talking about himself;human should not exist because of his “usefulness”.Hui Shi's evaluation of his works and his “Big value is useless” is based on the image of the greatness of the rivers and lakes in order to show that although he is useless in the real world,it is of great use to later generations.But he does not exist to become a “useful person”.Completing his natural life span and being leisure and unfettered among the complicated human world,this kind of “usage of the uselessness” is his greatest personal value.
