A Primary Study On Zhang-Taiyan's View Of Equality

Zhang-Taiyan is an important character in the history of modern Chinese philosophy. As an essential part of his philosophy thought, Zhang-Taiyan's view of equality has plentiful theoretical meanings. However,the existing studies have caused some arguments and problems.for that reason, it is necessary to study Zhang's view of equality wholly and systematically.This paper devide Zhang-Taiyan's view of equality into four periods:view of equality under the influence of tradition, view of equality during the revolution times, view of equality when criticizing modern western culture and view of Zhen-Ru equality. This paper also analyze the reason why they changed like that.The view of Zhen-Ru equality is the key point, it has great meanings in both moral philosophy and political philosophy.On the base of analizing the development of Zhang-Taiyan's thought, this paper thies to answer three main problems in the studies of Zhang's view of equality. First,we use " limited cultural pluralism" to solve the debate of monism and pluralism. Second, we use "individual have priority" to solve the debate of collectivity and individual. Third, we use "wandering between ideal world and real world" to solve the debate of metaphysics and non-metaphysics. The historical values of Zhang-Taiyan's view of equality has been analized in the end.
