A Study Of "Ma Xiang Yue" In Modern Southwest China

With the rapid development of e-commerce,a large number of private express delivery companies have sprung up.Express delivery industry is not a fashionable product at present.Post-houses appeared as early as ancient China.At first,only official documents and military intelligence were transmitted.During the Yong Le years of the Ming Dynasty,the Civil Postal Office was established for profit.By the end of the Qing Dynasty,thousands of Civil Postal Offices of different sizes appeared in the whole country,and the most representative one in southwest China was Ma Xiang Yue.It is hoped that a systematic and comprehensive study of Ma Xiang Yue can provide historical reference for the management of today's rapidly developing private express industry.This paper cuts through the research perspective of economic history,using literature analysis,data statistics,chart comparison and other methods.The comprehensive research and analysis of Ma Xiang Yue is carried out by using the literature,information,archives,monographs and papers of transportation,geography,postal,economic,and private enterprises in the southwestern region.The article is divided into four parts.The first part introduces the establishment and development of Ma Xiang Yue from the background and development process of Ma Xiang Yue.The second part is an overview of Ma Xiang Yue's business,which is divided into passenger transport business,exchange business and freight business.The third part is to sum up the operation and management system and characteristics of Ma Xiang Yue.It is divided into five parts: organization,personnel and salary system,classified management of goods,planning of operation route and operation characteristics.The fourth part is to analyze and study the reasons for the decline of Ma Xiang Yue and its influence,and to analyze and summarize the decline from three aspects: the performance of Ma Xiang Yue,the analysis of the reasons for the decline,and the influence on the modern southwest region.Through a comprehensive and systematic study of Ma Xiang Yue,it is concluded that the founder of Ma Xiang Yue judged the situation and,in a complex social environment,masterminded strategies that made Ma Xiang Yue a great player in the private transportation industry in southwest China.It has many business operations,a wide range of coverage,and its own articles of association for operation and management.However,they still did not get rid of the disadvantages of family-owned enterprises,hoarding a large amount of property,the heirs coveted pleasure,etc.,and eventually closed down due to poor management and lawsuits.However,after a hundred years of existence,Ma Xiang Yue has gradually formed a set of management system for people,money and goods in the private transportation industry,and many of its service cases and rules and regulations have provided a good model for many private express delivery industries today.
