At present, with the increase of non-war military operations such as flood rescue, peacekeeping,as well as the number of exercises and training missions in unfamiliar environments of troops, the demand for actual combat protection is increasingly obvious, and the requirements for medical support capabilities are increasing. As the backbone of future medical service support, military medical university students will face the pressure and test of studying, training and carrying out urgent and dangerous task in various complicated environments in the future. As an important predictor of individual performance and future achievement,Grit affects an individual's academic achievement, work performance and growth and progress. The current assessment of grit is mainly based on questionnaires, measuring from the explicit level, which relies on subjective self-evaluation.Studies have shown that implicit social cognition affects individuals'emotions and behaviors. The evaluation of the grit of military medical university students and the evaluation of the grit of the self and others in the implicit level significantly affect the academic performance, the training situation and the performance of the medical service support tasks under special circumstances.Based on the support of the major project of army"13th Five-Year"key project, this study aims to explore the implicit effect of military medical university students on assessing the level of grit of self and others and the neural mechanism in the implicit evaluation process. In addition, this study also enables them to better understand the level of grit of themselves, and to improve academic performance and military work performance in the future, and to provide an objective basis for further study on grit. This study mainly consists of two parts.Through the literature review and previous research,Study 1 is the construction of Implicit Association-Grit test using E-Prime2.0program,which is based on Implicit Association Test paradigm.Using standardized procedures,to explore the implicit effect,110 military medical university students(effective subjects were 90)were measured by the Grit O scale and the implicit association-grit test. The results showed that the Cronbach?coefficient of implicit association-grit test was 0.964.One-sample t-test indicated that the IAT D effect of military medical university students were higher than 0(0.55±0.50),t(89)=10.47,p<0.001,Cohen's d=1.10.The implicit effect of grit evaluation was significant, but the correlation with the level of explicit grit was not significant(r=0.046,p=0.669).Study 2selected 40 subjects from high and low level of grit, recorded EEG during the implicit association-grit test. The ERPs were extracted by Matlab13.0 software and statistical analysis was performed by SPSS22.0 software. The D value of the implicit effect was calculated, and the independent t-test showed a significant difference between high grit group(0.55±0.36)and low grit group(0.87±0.49),t(34)=-2.257,p<0.05,Cohen's d=0.74.Significant N400 and LPP were induced in both groups. In high grit group, the N400 component was significantly different under the task station,F(1,17)=8.528,p<0.05,?~2=0.334,and the main effect was significant at the electrode position,F(10,170)=8.207,p<0.001,?~2=0.326.The main effect of LPP component was significantly different under the task station,F(1,17)=5.471,p<0.05,?~2=0.243,and the main effect was significantly different at the electrode position,F(10,170)=18.479,p<0.001,?~2=0.521.In low grit group, the main effect of N400 component was significant under the condition,F(1,17)=10.051,p<0.05,?~2=0.372,and the main effect was significant at the electrode position,F(10,170)=8.223,p<0.001,?~2=0.326,while for the LPP component there was no significant main effect for the condition. The brain electrical activity mapping showed that the N400 amplitude induced by the incongruent blocks in high grit group was higher and larger, while the N400 amplitude induced by the congruent blocks in low grit group was higher and larger. The LPP amplitude induced by the congruent blocks in high grit group was higher and larger, while the LPP was not different significantly between congruent blocks and incongruent blocks in low grit group.Conclusions1.The implicit effect of military medical university students'evaluation of grit is significant, that is,he/she tends to think that the level of grit of self is higher than others. The implicit effect of grit evaluation should be considered when assessing grit by questionnaire.2.The N400 and LPP components in implicit grit evaluation between the high and low grit military medical university students are different.N400 can be used as a judgment indicator for the degree of accuracy of the implicit grit evaluation.3.Implicit effect and N400 component can be used as objective indicators for grit evaluation of military medical university students. The innovation of this research is studying grit at the perspective of implicit social cognition, which provides a new research perspective of grit on the basis of the questionnaire.Second,by combining with EEG technology, the differences of main EEG components and neural mechanisms of implicit grit evaluation are revealed, which provides an objectively basis research on grit.Last,by combining the implicit effect in the evaluation of grit and the objective indicators such as N400,it provides a theoretical basis for the establishment of an objective grit evaluation system and grit intervention.
