The English-Chinese Translation Report Of The Global Tuberculosis Report 2017

This translation practice report was written by the author based on the 2017 Global Tuberculosis Report Translation Project.It summarizes and reflects on the translation difficulties and appropriate methods of vocabulary and sentences encountered in the translation process.The difficulties in the translation process mainly focus on two levels.The first is the lexical level,such as the accurate translation of abbreviations,technical terms and polysemy.The method adopted is to refer to parallel texts,related medical texts,dictionaries and annotation.The second is the sentence level,such as passive sentences,proper translation of complex long sentences.According to different sentence structures,different translation methods are adopted,for example,voice conversion method,word order adjustment method,split method,with an effort to overcome the difficulties of translation and translate the original text faithfully and accurately.
