Since the Belt and Road Initiative was launched,China has carried out bilateral and multilateral cooperation with countries along the route in political, economic and cultural spheres. It organized projects and seminars to further expand this practical cooperation.Among the efforts it has made,China's endeavor to enhance agricultural cooperation with the African world is a highlight.Through seminars and training lectures,Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs have trained more than 3,000 agricultural management and technical personnel from relevant developing countries. Now they have become leaders in promoting agricultural cooperation between China and Belt and Road countries. This practice report is based on the author's interpreting practice during the 2018 Seminar on Agricultural Investment Management in Belt and Road Countries. The author selected examples from the opening and closing ceremony,as well as some professional lectures.First, the author summarizes the reasons why she chooses this topic, the research questions she intends to answer and the structure of the report. Then she describes the interpreting task and pre-interpreting preparation she made. The author introduces the background and details of her interpreting task, and how she prepared for it.In case analysis, the author focuses on comprehension problems she had, difficulties related to terminology and numbers, unnecessary repetition she made and contingencies she met with.In the end,the author summarizes the task and answers the two questions put forth in Chapter 1.The author hopes this practice report can be able to provide worthy advice for student interpreters about how to perform well in their first interpreting practices and help them better handle the situation on the spot.
