Extraction Of Semantic Primitives And Description Of Primitive Structure Of Auditory Sensory Verbs In Modern Chinese

As the basic component of natural language,word is the carrier of natural language form and meaning combination sequence.From the symbolic level,it is the smallest tangible unit of a sentence.Whether the human brain or the computer,the understanding and processing of natural language,all need to start from the surface form.From this point of view,understanding the meaning of words is the starting point and basis of understanding natural language semantics.In the age of language information,natural language processing requires more and more accurate description of the meaning of words,and the study of the micro-structure of word meaning is paid more and more attention.Under this background,the present study extracts the semantic primitives of auditory sensory verbs in modern Chinese,and further describes the semantic primitive structure under the guidance of the theory of semantic primitive.This paper focuses on the construction of semantic primitives and describes the primitive structure of auditory sensory verbs in modern Chinese.First of all,based on the current study of sensory verbs,the modern Chinese sensory verbs are classified into five sensory verbs: visual sensory verbs,auditory sensory verbs,taste sensory verbs,tactile sensory verbs and olfactory sensory verbs.Secondly,this paper takes Modern Chinese Dictionary(7th edition)as the model.Dictionary of Modern Chinese Verbs Classification(Guo Dafang Edition),Dictionary of Modern Chinese Classification(Dong Danian Edition),Dictionary of Modern Chinese Classification(Su Xinchun Edition)and Dictionary of Synonyms are used as auxiliary parts,and Corpus of Chinese Linguistics Research Center of Peking University(CCL),Chinese National Corpus and Media Language Corpus of Communication University of Media are used to collect and classify the sensory verbs in a closed way,so as to improve the five sub-fields of sensory verbs.Because of the limited space,this study takes auditory sensory verbs as the research object.Thirdly,by using the research method of phonological minimal pair,the semantic primitives of auditory sensory verbs are analyzed and extracted one by one in a group of words with opposite or similar meanings as a semantic minimal pair,so as to establish the auditory sensory verbs semantic primitives set.Finally,according to Hu Dan(2014),the meaning of words is generally composed of four modules: semantic category,semantic core,semantic attributes and pragmatic attributes.The semantic primitive structure of auditory sensory verbs is described by the general structure “semantic category + semantic core + semantic attributes + pragmatic attributes”.Aiming at the phenomenon of circular interpretation of a large number of paper dictionaries,there are some problems with the study of semantic,such as coarse granularity and limited application scope.The study of semantic primitive structure is an effective attempt to solve these problems.By analyzing and describing the relationship between basic lexical morphemes,this study can find out the differences between the semantic attributes of words,so as to construct a more refined set of micro-level semantic primitives.In this study,the modern Chinese auditory sensory verbs are sub-categories of verbs which can be studied as a case study.This paper discusses the construction of semantic primitives and primitive structures of these typical words.The improvement on lexical semantic processing efficiency not only brings about a breakthrough in sentence processing,but also promotes the compilation of dictionaries and avoids the circular interpretation in dictionary.
