Teachers' educational belief affects teachers' behavior,teachers' professional growth and students' all-round development.The educational belief of normal university students is the primary stage of the gradual formation of the educational belief of teachers.Therefore,starting from the initial stage,paying attention to the cultivation of the educational belief of normal university students and helping normal university students form correct educational belief are conducive to the establishment of an excellent teacher team and laying a solid foundation for normal university students.With the deepening of English curriculum reform and the expansion of the research on teachers' cognition,the research on English teachers' educational beliefs has become an important topic in the academic circle.As the successor of the future education,the cultivation of English teachers' educational belief is of great significance to the professional development of English teachers and the improvement of the quality of English education.In this paper,it explores the current situation of educational beliefs of English normal university students in S normal university by means of survey and interview and explores the main factors influencing the formation of their educational beliefs.First of all,through the analysis of data and interview results,it easily reach a conclusion that most of the research objects have formed a positive and open educational belief in line with the requirements of the contemporary education field.However,through the analysis of specific items from five dimensions,which include career view,English learning view,curriculum and teaching view,student view and evaluation view,it indicates that some subjects tend to make wrong choices in the answers to some items,such as some students choose to agree on the statement of “corporal punishment”.Secondly,through data analysis and interviews,this paper explores the main influencing factors of educational belief,and finds out that there are many differences between gender and educational belief.Among them,there are a surprising result that girls have more advanced and contemporary educational beliefs than boys from the dimensions of English learning view,curriculum and teaching view,student view and evaluation view.Moreover,there are significant differences between grades and these five dimensions,and their educational beliefs tend to be conservative with the increase of grades.The interview results show that this is the inevitable result of the mature internalization of educational beliefs.What' more,because the research objects of this paper are mostly from shaanxi province,and the regional differences maybe be not obvious.Therefore,the research results show that there is no significant difference between students' origin and educational beliefs.At the same time,through the interview,the result shows that the main influencing factors of educational belief also include school cultural atmosphere,curriculum,teachers,self-reflection and self-professional ability.Based on the above analysis results,the purpose of the study is to help English teachers to form an open and scientific educational belief that meets the needs of modern English education,so as to promote teachers' professional development and to improve the quality of teacher education.
