The Arrangement And Research On The Epitaphs Of The Northern Dynasty Unearthed In Anyang

The Northern Dynasty was so turbulent that the use of characters was complicated.As unearthed literature,epitaphs well preserve the time characteristics,which owners range from the nobles to the commoners.There are a large number of variant characters in these epitaphs,which perfectly preserve the usage of the characters of the Northern Dynasty.It is of great significance to the study of ancient Chinese characters and the development history of Chinese characters at the same time.At present,the epitaphs of the Northern Dynasty unearthed in Anyang are only collected in various books,but there is no special arrangement of those.And there are some mistakes which were urgently needed to be corrected and supplemented.Therefore,this paper selects 206 epitaphs of the Northern Dynasty unearthed in Anyang as the research object.This article will supplements the hiatus and correct the errors about the interpretations based on others’ various viewpoints.Then we can do the further research about language on this basis.This dissertation includes four chapters:The first chapter is the introduction,which includes the research materials,the topic selection basis,the research significance and current situation,and research ideas and methods.The second chapter mainly about the arrangement and collation.The contents of the arrangement mainly include: title,including year,title of epitaphs and so on.Thereis a brief summary before the title,which include the size and the style of epitaphs and so on.To supplement the hiatus and to correct the errors about the interpretations based on others’ various viewpoints through the pictures of rubbings’ comparison.It will supply the more reliable text for the follow-up study.The third chapter is the study of variant characters.Firstly,it defines the variant characters and discusses its classification.According to the induction method commonly used in academic circles,the unearthed epitaphs of the Northern Dynasty in Anyang were divided into eight types: simplified,complicated,assimilated,changed,displaced,marked and so on.The fourth chapter is the explanation of variant characters.Typical variant characters are selected for detailed research to reconstruct the evolution and summarize the regular of them,in order to provide new materials for the research of the history of Chinese characters.
