Study On The Effects Of Different Intervention Methods On Improving High School Students' Hope

With the rise of positive psychology,more and more scholars have begun to pay attention to the importance of hope for young people,and have done a lot of research on how to improve the sense of hope.However,the comprehensive research situation at home and abroad has found that the education of hope in the past schools is usually carried out by mental health teachers by group psychological counseling or mental health courses.This method is time consuming and requires a professional team leader or psychologist.The coverage is narrow.The researcher want to find a way to improve the sense of hope in a natural campus environment.Therefore,this research designed three intervention methods based on the theory of hope,namely,hope writing,reading inspirational stories,and watching inspirational videos.The experimental interventions was divided into four groups:the control group,the writing group,the reading group and the video group.The writing group subjects wrote about the topics of hope,the reading group read inspirational stories,the video group watched inspirational videos,and the control group received daily courses without any of previous intervention.During the experimental intervention,subjects were given 20 minutes of intervention three times a week for four consecutive weeks.Covariance analysis was mainly performed on the data collected in pre-test,post-test and tracking test,and the results were as follows:(1)The writing group's hope state and hope traits were significantly improved,and the goal-oriented motivation was significantly improved,that was,students tend to take more actions to achieve the goal.It proved that hope writing had a significant effect on the hope of high school students.(2)The reading group's hope state and hope trait level did not improve significantly,but the goal-oriented motivation was significantly improved,that was,students tend to take more actions to achieve the goal.It proved that reading inspirational stories had non significant effect on the hope of high school students.(3)The video group's students hope state was significantly improved.Although the hope trait level was improved,it did not reach the statistically significant level;thegoal-oriented motivation was significantly improved,that was,the students tend to take more actions to achieve the goal.It proved that watching inspirational videos has a significant effect on the hope of high school students.Conclusion:It can be concluded that hope writing can not only improve the state of hope but also improve the level of hope traits;Watch inspirational videos only improve the state of hope;Reading inspirational stories has no significant effect on the level of hope trait and state hope.Therefore,hope writing can improve high school students' sense of hope.Next is watching motivational video;Reading inspirational stories doesn't have a significant effect.
