Hope For The Future-oriented

The thesis discusses the utopian philosophy of Ernst Bloch. Ernst Bloch is one of the representatives of earlier western Marxism. He is also famed as a most creative Marxist in the 20th century. Utopian philosophy sets off the internal path from the start point of the philosophy of Kant. It tries to connect to God through the "self-encounter" which break the darkness of philosophy of consciousness, and meanwhile to make utopian philosophy to be the hope towards future. Then the internal path consequently expanse to the outward as its logical end, and at the same time, the utopian philosophy tends to the combination with Marxism. Ernst Bloch comprehends Marxism as a concrete utopia. The real Marxism, which is totally different from all the false Marxism such as the totalitarianism of Stalinism, the anarchism of Bakunin and reformism of Social Democrats, is a revolutionary philosophy. The real Marxism is the actual movement towards utopia by the means of dialectical materialism. As a result, the unity of naturalism and humanism can be realized only in the concrete utopia.This thesis is composed of four parts. The first chapter gives an introduction about Ernst Bloch's life and the big problems of his time; chapterⅡanalyzes the internal path of utopian philosophy, revealing how a new metaphysics is established through the critically inheritance from German classical philosophy; chapterⅢexplains Ernst Bloch's interpretations of Karl Marx's On the Outline of Feuerbach's Theory, demonstrating utopian philosophy as a creative Marxism; chapterⅣis a brief discourse upon the real meaning of utopian philosophy, trying to reveal its vitality and validity in modern time.
