| As one of the Southeast Asian countries adjacent to China,Vietnam has always been an important place for Chinese to move to Southeast Asia.In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties of the 17 th and 18 th centuries,a group of Ming government officials and civilians left China to move to Vietnam because of war or business.These ethnic groups were called " Minh Huong people."This article combines some information collected through field invesitigations in the central and southern parts of Vietnam such as Hoi An,Thua Thien province,Ho Chi Minh City,Vinh Long Privince,My Tho,Bien Hoa,etc.and face-to-face inteview of Minh Huong group to analyze the current culture,ideology,and national identity of Minh Huong people,this paper summarizes the localization evolution process,evolution characteristics and causes of this Chinese group.In addition,this paper takes the Ming dynasty Assembly Hall in Ho Chi Minh City as a representative to analyze the present situation of the descendants of Minh Huong people in modern society,such as independent management,sacrifice activities integrating Chinese and Vietnamese culture,and organizational functions that maintain the communication between member of Minh Huong people in Vietnam.In general,the Minh Huong people have become a group of Chinese descendants within the Vietnamese ethnic group,influenced by the mandatory assimilation policies of Vietnam’s successive governments and their own business needs.Finally,the paper also studies and analyzes the influence,status and future development trend of Minh Huong people in the historical development of Vietnam.Many outstanding talents in Minh Huong group have made great contributions to Vietnam’s politics,culture,economy and many other aspects,and have promoted the development and progress of Vietnamese society to some extent.At the same time,for a long period of time,the entire Minh Huong group shouldered the indispensable role of Vietnam in foreign trade and exchanges,and became a very small but not negligible force among the indigenous Chinese in Southeast Asia. |
