In Vietnam,most people believe in Buddhism and Buddhism culture is introduced from China.Therefore,Chinese Buddhist scriptures are very common.The great importance attached to the teaching of Chinese characters in the Buddhist Institute has made Monk and Nun students Chinese learning a hot topic in Vietnamese Chinese teaching field.However,in fact,influenced by the long history of Chinese characters,the complexity of writing and the difficulty of learning,the current situation of Chinese character teaching in Ho Chi Minh Buddha college in Vietnam is not very optimistic,and further effective construction is needed.The research on the teaching of Chinese characters can promote the reform of the education mode of Vietnam Buddhist Institute,strengthen the cultural exchange of Buddhism,effectively improve the level of reading Buddhist classics and translating Buddhist classics,and promote the development of the Buddhist Institute.This paper takes literature analysis,questionnaire survey and interview as the main research methods.This study is divided into three parts: firstly,it introduces the significance of this study,summarizes the relevant research results,expounds the research ideas,research methods,research objects,and defines the relevant concepts;secondly,it investigates and studies the situation of Chinese characters "teaching" and "learning" in the Buddhist Institute through questionnaire survey and interview methods,describes its current situation,analyzes its problems,and focuses on understanding the Buddhist students "Han" Finally,in view of the problems of teaching and learning Chinese characters in Vietnam Buddhist Institute,the paper puts forward some suggestions from the perspectives of schools,teachers and students.The survey results show that the school fails to fully realize the necessity and importance of Chinese character teaching,and there are unreasonable aspects in the arrangement,curriculum arrangement and textbook selection;Chinese teachers in Buddhist College have a deeper understanding of Chinese character teaching concept and students' learning difficulties,but due to the limited conditions,the teaching method is single and the teaching pertinence is insufficient.Monk and Nun students has obvious group characteristics in Chinese character learning: the ultimate goal of Chinese character learning is to study Buddhism and study Buddhist scriptures;the foundation of Chinese characters is relatively weak;the learning method is single and rigid;it is greatly influenced by the negative transfer of the Chinese and Vietnam characters;and it is difficult to learn complicated and simple characters in parallel.Based on the survey results,this paper puts forward improvement suggestions from the perspectives of school,teachers and students.Especially for teachers,we should pay attention to the group characteristics of monks and nuns,take students as the center,stimulate the intrinsic motivation of learning,strengthen the teaching of Chinese character laws and the teaching of Chinese character learning methods,and adhere to the concept of "emphasizing both simplicity and complexity,taking simplified characters as crutches,and strengthening the training of reading ability of traditional characters".The innovation of this paper in the process of research and analysis is mainly reflected in the following aspects: Taking the special category of Chinese character teaching in Vietnam,this paper makes an in-depth investigation and analysis of the learning situation of monks and nuns from multiple levels and dimensions.This paper has some deficiencies in data analysis and mining.Limited to time and energy,this paper only investigates and studies Ho Chi Minh Buddhist College.In the future,the research scope can be expanded to obtain more comprehensive data and make more accurate analysis.
