Objective:The present study examined the situation on college student Ego-centrism,perceived social support,loneliness and the college student depression,and the relationship between college student ego-centrism and depression.The present study also explored the mediating effect of perceived social support and loneliness and investigated the chain mediating effect of perceived social support and loneliness between college student ego-centrism and depression.Methods:442 college students of six schools were recruited in the study to the complete self-report questionnaires by the revised college student ego-centrism scale.910 college students of six schools were recruited in the study to the complete self-report questionnaires.The questionnaires included Center for Epidemiological Studios Depression Scale,College student ego-centrism Scale,Loneliness Scale and Perceived social support Scale.T-test.one-way ANONA was introduced to analyze the situation of ego-centrism,depression,perceived social support and loneliness in college students.Person correlation analysis was introduced to analyze the relationship between college student ego-centrism and depression.Linear regressions were used to analyze the predict of depression by ego-centrism,perceived social support,and loneliness.Mediation analysis was introduced to analyze the mediating effect of perceived social support and loneliness.The result indicated that:(1)The college student ego-centrism questionnaire had a good reliability and validity,which can effectively support the follow-up research.The revised college student self-centered questionnaire for college students consists of 18 items,which are divided into five factors: responsibility,intrinsic preference,utilitarian orientation,unique self,and interpersonal harmony.The total alpha coefficient of the questionnaire is 0.78,and the scale is using the Likert 5-point scoring method,From 1 to 5 means no match to match.Higher scores indicate a higher degree of egocentricity.(2)Depressive mood dimensions of depression had significant gender differences.Depressive mood and positive emotion dimensions in whether or not only had significant differences.Somatic symptoms of depression had significant national difference.Depression and its dimensions of depressive mood,positive emotion and somatic symptoms had significant family residence differences.Depression and its dimensions Somatic symptom had significant grade difference.College student ego-centrism and its dimensions had significant gender differences.College student ego-centrism and its dimensions in whether or not only had significant differences.Ego-centrism and utilitarian orientation,had significant national difference.Ego-centrism and its dimensions utilitarian orientation,unique self and interpersonal harmony all had significant family residence difference.College student ego-centrism had significant grade difference.Loneliness had significant gender difference,but there was no significant difference in the national,whether or not only family,family residence and grade.Perceived social support and its dimensions had significant gender and family residence difference,but but there was no significant difference in the national,whether or not only family and grade.(3)There was obvious negatively correlated between ego-centrism and college student depression.There was obvious positive correlated between ego-centrism and perceived social support.There was obvious negatively correlated between ego-centrism and loneliness.There was obvious negatively correlated between perceived social support and depression.There was obvious negatively correlated between perceived social support and loneliness.There was obvious positive correlated between loneliness and college student depression.(4)Ego-centrism,perceived social support and loneliness could significantly predicted college students depression.(5)Perceived social support response mediated the effect of ego-centrism and college students depression.Loneliness mediated the effect of perceived social support and college students depression.Perceived social support and loneliness played a chain mediating effect between ego-centrism and college students depression.
