"Escape" And "Return"

As one of the representative writers of the post-80s' writing,Di An has created a large number of excellent literary works,which has won the double recognition of the academic circles and the literary market.The achievements of Di An's works are closely related to the theme of the novel.In Di An's novels,the theme of "escape" and "return" is always implicitly or explicitly included.With the concern of this theme,Di An shows the unique growth experience of the post-80 s generation,writes about the confusion of youth and the pains in the process of growth of a generation,and reveals the origin of the growth pains of the post-80 s generation.What's more,it shows that the writers of the post-80 s generation think deeply about the times and personal growth experience.This paper takes the theme of "escape" and "return" in Di An's novels as the research object,and analyses the text presentation,causes,significance and limitations of the theme of "escape" and "return" through intensive reading.The paper consists of four parts.Chapter 1 is the introduction,which mainly elaborates the research object and significance of the paper,analyses the current research situation of Di An and her creation,determines the research methods,and explains the connotation of the paper involving "escape" and "return",anxiety and nostalgia.Chapter 2 is the cornerstone of the whole paper and the textual basis of the paper.This chapter mainly analyses the textual presentation of the themes of "escape" and "return" in Di An's novels.Section 1 analyses the presentation of the theme of "escape" in Di An's novels from two aspects: escaping from the realistic predicament and escaping from the spiritual predicament,and points out that the escaping of the characters in the novel can only temporarily escape from the predicament,but can not solve the problem fundamentally.Section 2 analyses the presentation of the theme of "return" in Di An's novels from two aspects: the return to reality and the return to self.It points out that the return of the characters in the novel shows the efforts of the young people to face the pains of growth.Escaping the reality can not solve the problem.Only facing the difficulties directly can we reach a reconciliation with life and achieve self-redemption.Chapter 3 analyses the reasons why Di An pays attention to the theme of "escape" and "return" from the context of the times and personal experience.Section 1 starts from the external context of the times,and points out that the anxiety and "urban nostalgia" pervaded in the era environment provide the external social basis for the escape and return of the characters in the novel.Section 2 starts from the internal personal experience,and points out that Di An's recognition of her hometown and the growing painful experience provide the internal action basis for the escape and return of the characters.Context of the times and personal experience together contribute to the final presentation of the theme of "escape" and "return".Chapter 4 summarizes the significance and limitations of the themes of "escape" and "return" in Di An's novels.Section 1 summarizes the significance of the themes of "escape" and "return" from the perspectives of literary significance and practical significance.Literary significance is mainly manifested in three aspects: inheritance and development of the theme of "escape" and "return" in literary history,application of the narrative mode of "leave-return-leave" and Enlightenment to urban literature;realistic significance is manifested in two aspects: exposure to social problems and demonstration of psychological transformation after 1980's.Section 2 summarizes the limitations of the themes of "escape" and "return",and points out that the limitations of the themes of "escape" and "return" lie in the way of creation based on personal experience,the one-sided and narrow understanding of life and the lack of practical guiding significance.Undeniably,Di An's creation still has a lot of room to improve,but compared with Guo Jingming,Chun Shu and other "post-80s" writers who focus on personal emotions and emotional rendering,Di An's attention and creation on the theme of "escape" and "return" shows a larger writing pattern.Di An turned her vision from "ego" to "group" and began to examine the psychological course of the whole group's growth after 1980 under the background of the times,showing her ambition to speak for one's youth.
