Adjectives is relatively important and complicated in Chinese part of speech,occupies an important position in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language.Theories of degree semantics believe that the nature of degree is one of the essential attributes of adjectives and the foundation of adjective classification.According to the research and surveys of foreign students learning adjectives,we found out that the gradability and scale structure of adjectives could also influence the acquisition condition of foreign students.Based on the New HSK syllabus and the relevant theories of degree semantics,we selected the frequently-used adjectives in Teaching Chinese as a Second language and subcategorized them according to gradability and scale structure.This article has also shown the gradable adjectives subcategorization has differences and opposition in semantic level and syntactic level.We use the HSK corpus,combined with the daily teaching collection of the relevant corpus,aim at the gradability adjectives for error study.This article could be divided into 5 parts:The first part of the article mainly introduces the reason why I choose this topic and a review about related research.In the second part,we introduce the main theories of degree semantic,including degree model,scale structure and the classification method of gradable adjectives.Based on the New HSK syllabus,we selected the common used gradable adjectives and classify them into two large class and four small class.The third part releveled the internal diversity and asymmetry phenomenon of gradable adjectives in semantic level and syntactic level.The fourth part was composed from the perspective of foreign Chinese teaching,we researched and analyzed the acquisition situation of gradable adjectives,using error analysis theory to analyze the kinds and reasons of gradable adjectives in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language.Finally we put forward the teaching suggestions for the deviation of the gradable adjectives.
