Han Feizi is an important research object in Chinese ancient political communication intellectual history study.His political thought inherits from his predecessors,and has affected the despotism of Qin and Han dynasty,moreover,the feudal monarchy more than two thousand years established according to it,so it is significantly important.Han Feizi's political communication ideas is the research object of this paper and his Dao De heteronomy thought in monarch-subject communication ideas is the paper's research question.This research applies the methods of ideas history as well as text interpretation,recombining the materials centering on Han Feizi's ‘Chengxin' idea and ‘Qingli' idea and uses the original context to illustrate the meanings of these two ideas,in order to represents Han Feizi's thoughts in both text and historical sociology.Han Feizi's ‘Chengxin' idea means the words of officials in feudal times should be accordance with the practice they have promised in their words,neither the words overstepping the practice nor in turn is allowed,so to say,emphasizing ‘Xingming' consistency.This thesis claims that this ‘Qingli' idea is put forward because of the intensification of mergers wars and the needs of proceeding autocratic monarchy and centralization.In this idea,Han Feizi violates the legalist school's tradition of depressing the speech of officials in feudal times,in contrast,he argues that the force of speech could be used to make the officials to be ‘Er mu' of the monarch.Meanwhile,this idea initially defines the relationship between ‘Ming' an ‘Shi' on the level of narrative,which could supervise if the subjects lie to the monarch or not.Han Feizi's ‘Qingli' idea means the monarch communicates with the subjects emotionally or using ‘Li'.‘Li' means the characters and laws of all things,mainly including human nature and objective laws.This thesis argues that the both the ‘Chengxin' and ‘Qingli' ideas based on following the ‘Li'.However,communication between monarch and subjects could also exert the function of ‘Dao' to realize the harmony between humanity and objective laws,and it is Dao De heteronomy.Dao De heteronomy does not require people's self-cultivation,and turns to pursue the change throughout the whole society which makes the direction of personality consistent with the nature rules.With the influence of this kind of idea,Han Feizi regards the existing and boom of the nations as the critical proposition of temporal society.He believes ‘Shigong' is the root of a nation's thriving and prosperous,and monarch-subject communication should follow this prior objective law,translate the force of subject's speech to the building of ‘Shigong',which is the ultimate purpose of monarch-subject communication.In this process,monarch-subject communication shows communication's potential function of centralizing the force of the whole society and changing the society from ‘Luan' to ‘Zhi',at the same time,presents the possibility for it to realize the harmony between humanity and objective laws,what it is the possibility for monarch-subject communication to be the carrier of Dao De heteronomy.
