Tseng Yuho's Art And The Research On The Overseas Practice Of Chinese Ink Art

This paper mainly discusses the overseas practice research of Tseng YuHo and other Chinese artists under the background of western modernism.Tseng YuHo is an artist,also is a contemporary female artist.In the face of various problems in the transformation and development of traditional Chinese painting,she has always believed that only creative artistic works that conform to the contemporary context can be the correct explanation for the development and continuation of Chinese ink painting tradition.Influenced by Dadaism and Surrealism advocated by Max Ernst,Marcel Duchamp and others,and facing the different artistic and cultural differences between China and the West,she created a brand-new artistic form of "Dsui Hua" by deconstructing the traditional Chinese ink painting art and combining western modernism on the basis of the mutual blend of the two.To find a new development for Chinese traditional ink painting art under the background of modernism.Tseng YuHo's interpretation of traditional Chinese painting and his creation mode are worth studying.She came to the United States as “a young Chinese bride” with the background of a traditional Chinese ink painter.She made different artistic explorations from the aspects of the shape,content and meaning of the painting itself.Tseng YuHo tried to change the prejudice of traditional Chinese painting in the development of American art.The Dsui Hua art she created on the basis of the integration of Chinese and western cultures has changed people's understanding of the fixed mode of traditional Chinese ink painting art and enriched our way of inheriting and developing traditional Chinese ink painting art.As Michael Sullivan said,"Tseng YuHo is a Chinese literati painter who revived the tradition by reinterpreting it.Her transformation of the traditional Chinese ink art form is based on respect for the traditional Chinese art itself".This article first gives an overview of Tseng YuHo's life,then briefly introduces the formation and development of early Chinese paintings in the United States and thedefinition of modernism,focusing on the mutual influence between traditional ink painting and modern art.In this chapter,it introduces the overseas Chinese ink painters in the same period as Tseng YuHo,and makes a general analysis of these Chinese painters,and demonstrates the importance of Tseng YuHo in the history of art from the historical point of view.Finally,through the analysis of the characteristics of Tseng YuHo's Dsui Hua art from the multiple perspectives of decorative art,modern art and traditional Chinese ink art,the paper demonstrates the important position of Tseng YuHo's Dsui Hua art in the transformation of traditional Chinese ink art.
