Zong Pu’s creation of fictions is mainly divided into three stages: the first stage was20c50sto60s and, most of the fictions are sort stories, which was mainly about the intellectuals whodevoted to the revolution and accepted the transform. The magnum opuses in this period are“Red Bean” and “Bosom Friend”. As for the second period between1978and1985, the fictionshave short stories and novelettes, which write about painful memories of the Great CulturalRevolution.“Who I am”“Karma Stone” are quite popular in this time. The third period startedsince1985, Zong Pu’s fictions are the four-volume “Introduction to the Wiled Gourd”, including“Namtu in Mind”“Eastern Tibet in Mind”“Western expedition in Mind” and “NorthNaturalization in Mind”. These saga novels rebuild the image of the Chinese intellectuals whowas born in the20th, and set up a monument of spiritual resource for the Chinese intelligentsia.Learning on the basis of previous studies, this paper explored the novel text in bothperspectives of traditional cultural spirit and the traditional narrative method, which aimedknowing the unique charm of Zong Pu’s fictions, and then deepening the study. The paper isdivided into six parts added with the introduction and conclusion.The introduction introduced research status of Zong Pu’s fictions, research methods.The text includes four parts: the first part combines on the basis of the kernel of virtue ethics,and combines with the ritual on the basis of normative ethics, and has open-minded attitude andbear the responsiblitiy, and analyses the Confucian spirit showed in the Zong Pu’s fictions fromthe perspective of the Confucian culture and Taoist culture, which will discuss the relationshipbetween intellectuals and themselvs or society. Secondly, the article points out Zong Pu who isgood at drawing lessons from the traditional narrative techniques and the traditional lyric way.This part has the narrative attitude, and influences from Hong Lou Meng and craeats the artisticconception. Thirdly, related to the first chapters, the paper points out that Zong Pu adept atinheriting Chinese traditional culture but in his unique way, and always gives modern look to theChinese traditional culture to create rooted in traditional modernist novels. This part has zheZong Pu view of women and the criticism of the concentional idea indeed.Forthly, the articlehave shown Zong Pu novel’s meaning on creation and its limitations on the whole. This part hasthe critique of the social reality, and the limitation on the creation of traditional culture.The epilogue part points that Zong Pu inherits her father Feng Youlan’s creative spirt oftenacity and shows that readers’ hopes and wishes for Zong Pu.
