Language communication is the most direct means of information transmission.As an important part of information,numbers are also an indispensable part of language communication.The reason is that the speaker can explain things more concretely and accurately by using simple numbers.The material selected in this paper is two Japanese-Chinese simulated simultaneous interpreting practices on the basis of the investment meeting of Japanese telecom operator KDDI.This thesis will extract all the sentences include numbers in the meeting,and analyze the author's mistakes from three aspects: misinterpreting,omitting and imperfect output of figures.This thesis tries to explore the problems that the author will encounter during figure interpreting,the reasons for the mistakes,and then try to find some effective solutions,in order to improve the author's translation quality.Through analysis,author found that there are two main reasons why the quality of the translation is not good enough.One is that the author's listening focus is wrong.In the case of insufficient energy,only focuses on the recognition of the figures themselves,but ignores the other information of the numbers,or only focuses on the sentence information,and does not allocate energy to understand and remember the logical relationship between the numbers.The second reason is that when the numbers appear intensively,the author lacks memory but only relies on rote memorization to translate,which makes it difficult for the author to deal with high-frequency figures.Thus,author proposes more targeted pre-translation preparation strategies for digitally intensive materials.And then three strategies based on the Gile's Effort Model are discussed.First of all,the translator should balance the attention distribution such as transfer the listening focus.The attention is used to ensure that the translator understands the meaning of all figure information.On this basis,the memory and translation of the numbers can be reconsidered.Secondly,the simple figure note-taking method can be used to reduce the memory pressure of the translator.Finally,In the presence of figure high frequencies,fuzzy strategy can be used to reduce misinterpreting.The author hopes that by analyzing her own simulation conference materials,she and other interpreters can find some practical exercises in figure interpreting.
