British writer Martin Amis has used the term " the End of the World " to describe contemporary society many times in his works. Many novels show us this ridiculous world. This paper analyzes the performance of the " the End of the World ",summarizes its performance, analyzes its causes and explores its aesthetic value. The main body of this paper is constructed from three chapters. The first chapter analyzes the " the End of the World " in Martin Amis' s works.Through the objective depiction of the four aspects of "money eroding subject consciousness","life scene chaos","social panic sentiment" and "people's physical and mental suffering",Martin Amis is the embodiment of the character's psychology. We present a " the End of the World " : horrible, sad, and sighing, reflecting the decline of human society and the dark side of the development of social history. The second chapter explores the artistic expression of the " the End of the World " of Martin Amis' s novel.First, the "out-of-the-world" time disorder causes the narrative time of a particular scene to change, which enhances the tension of the picture.Second, the "closed space" presents the " the End of the World " picture, which is intended to pull people away from the social environment.Explain that people cannot be immune to the effects of social change.Third,“self-participation” highlights authenticity. The writer adds his own experience to the character,or writes himself as a character in the book,or by giving a special name to his character, adding a realistic color to the novel, and its objectivity and seriousness are also manifested. The third chapter explores the practical significance of the " the End of the World " in Martin Amis' s novels. His works have the meaning of apocalypse and anti-modern "prophecy." Writers use the "metaphor" to warn the world, fear and anxiety for the future and get out of the way to resolve the crisis. At the same time, the writing of " the End of the World " also points to the inner heart of the human being. The various kinds of social externalities have aggravated people's distrust of society, and thus they are more laissez-faire and even confluent.Comparing the writing of Martin Amis' " the End of the World " with "Angry Youth",the generation of his father,Kingsley Amis, the strength and form of the contemporary authors' criticism are changed. In summary,Martin Amis satirizes social ills, reveals the dark side of society in the late 20 th century, and describes those phenomena that are inhuman, cruel, mean, and degraded, with their super-high attention and influence.People cut through the illusion of social turmoil and see the real social state.
