Regional Cultural Features And Artistic Expressions Of Xiangxi Minority Documentaries

Documentaries on ethnic minorities are already an important part of documentaries,and they have played an important role in spreading Chinese excellent culture and promoting folklore.The Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture has unique folk customs and regional culture.It has the continuity of the times and the depth of history that other cultures cannot surpass.In the new era,documentary films on the subject of ethnic minorities in western Hunan continue to develop folk culture through the use of video expressions.This article starts with a documentary on the subject of ethnic minorities in western Hunan and explores the regional cultural characteristics and artistic expression of this type of documentary.First of all,based on the development of documentaries on ethnic minorities,the concept of documentaries on ethnic minorities in western Hunan was defined.Based on the search and induction of documentaries on ethnic minorities in western Hunan over the years,the development of this type of documentary was sorted out.Selected excellent documentaries on the subject of ethnic minorities in western Hunan as research samples,such as "Xiangxi" broadcasted by Hunan Satellite TV,"Mysterious Xiangxi" broadcasted by Tourism Satellite TV,and applied folklore,narratology,film art,etc.Relevant theories combine literature analysis,case analysis,and practical research to analyze the regional cultural characteristics and artistic expression of this type of documentary.In this process,I combined the documentary film "Tujia Brocade" shot by the author,and compared it with other documentaries,and provided reasonable suggestions for the development and creation of documentaries on ethnic minorities in the future.The full text is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction.The introduction mainly introduces the research background and significance,the current status and deficiencies of research at home and abroad,the innovation and difficulty of topic selection,and the research content and methods.The second chapter first defines the concept of the documentary film on the subject of ethnic minorities in western Hunan,and sorts out the development status of the documentary film on the subjects of ethnic minorities in western Hunan.The third chapter,combined with the documentary film about the ethnic minority in Xiangxi and the living habits of the people in the Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture,shows the unique cultural characteristics of the region,including both material and spiritual life.The material life that is closely related to people's daily life,including the clothing,diet,architecture,transportation,etc.of the ethnic minorities in Xiangxi;the spiritual life related to people's ideology and culture,including marriage and funeral,music,dance,religion,etc.The fourth chapter studies the artistic expression of the documentaries on ethnic minorities in western Hunan.It mainly uses narratology,folklore,and aesthetics as theoretical studies.It is divided into narrative features and audiovisual features.It shows the story between the compatriots of ethnic minorities and folk life.Get the deep cultural connotation hidden behind the image.Chapter Five,the director's elaboration,is a demonstration of the significance and creative experience of the author's graduation work,and summarizes and reflects on the problems existing in the documentary.In this chapter,the author also puts forward certain requirements for his professional ability.In conclusion,the macro-thinking and prospect of the documentary films on the subject of ethnic minorities in western Hunan,gives hope for the development and innovation of such documentary films in the future,and at the same time puts forward suggestions for finding a characteristic road suitable for the development of this type of documentary films.
