Comparative Study Of Banana Leaf Pattern In Ancient Chinese Ceramic Decoration

The ancient Chinese ceramic decoration art is colorful,whether it is an auxiliary pattern that plays a decorative role,or a theme-type pattern,the decoration of these patterns will give the porcelain a unique vitality.These two kinds of patterns with different functions are in porcelain decoration.In the different expressions of decoration techniques,layout composition and content,rich ceramic art decoration effects will appear.The banana leaf pattern in ceramic decoration is one of the few patterns with both auxiliary and theme type decorative functions.It is more theoretical and practical to study this variety of patterns.The article began with the ceramic banana leaf pattern that appeared in the Song and Liao periods.As the ceramic industry continued to develop in the Yuan,Ming,and Qing dynasties,the decorative forms of banana leaf patterns became more colorful.Banana leaf patterns are mostly used as auxiliary decorative patterns in porcelain.From the perspective of the decoration itself,the veins,stems,and outer contours of banana leaves have different formulas in different periods;from the perspective of decorative techniques and ornamental shapes,the banana leaf pattern gradually changes with the development of the overall ceramics.From the perspective of decoration layout,not only is it directly related to the shape,but also affected by the aesthetics of the times and the requirements of the emperor.This article will combine a large number of picture materials,based on the four different stages of ancient China's banana leaf pattern porcelain,to further analyze the development and evolution of ceramic banana leaf pattern decoration.This research will fill the gaps in the decorative features and evolution of banana leaf patterns in ceramic decoration.In addition,the decorative style of the banana leaf pattern in the ceramics complements the cultural connotation.The production and development of the ceramic pattern also reflects the human society's spiritual and material level to a certain extent.At the same time,the scientific and systematic study of banana leaf pattern helps us to better understand and inherit and promote traditional culture,which has extremely important practical significance for guiding the development of modern ceramics.
