The Research On The Decoration Features Development Of Fish-pattern On Chinese Ancient Ceramics

The fish-pattern decoration on ceramics, with the features of symbolization, technology and ornamentation, experienced five different development periods in ancient China, and was presented in different forms due to the change of social formation, ideology, aesthetic standards and. the development of ceramics-making technology. An obvious change on fish-pattern decoration existed in its implication, skill and form including the composition, shape, combination and so on. Furthermore, this change showed a quite clear direction of development.This dissertation studied the features of the fish-pattern decoration in different periods with the help of a large number of pictures, analysed their relations and distinctions, and finally summarized the development regularity of the fish-pattern decoration features.
