China has always been the most important trading partner of Malaysia,and they has maintained good exchanges and cooperation in the fields of science,technology,culture and so on.Malaysia is a multiracial society,the proportion of Chinese population ranks second in the national population.The Malay Chinese have always maintained their own cultural traditions,paid attention to Chinese learning and education,although the development of Chinese language has went through many hardships due to political and policy reasons.But since the late twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty-first century,the status and nature of Chinese in Malay have changed.Many non-Chinese people also started to learn Chinese actively.At the same time,National schools in Malaysia have began to set up Chinese courses.By consulting the literature,it is found that the current research on teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages about Malaysia,less discussing the situation of Chinese teaching in Malaysia's public school for non-Chinese students,so this is worthy of our attention,this study will help us to increase the understanding of this and enrich the national research of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages.This Thesis takes the Chinese teaching of non-Chinese students at Universiti Teknologi MARA in Malaysia as the research object.Through questionnaires surveys,interviews,classroom observation and practice and other methods,finding out the present situation of Chinese teaching at this teaching site from two components,including Chinese teacher teams and non-Chinese students,teaching organization and implementation.Then,we find some problems in the current Chinese teaching process based on the analysis: the teachers are highly mobile,their work quality and abilities are not up to standard;non-Chinese students are not strong in learning Chinese;the curriculum is single,class schedule is unreasonable;the Chinese textbooks lack of science and fun,utilization of other teaching resources is insufficient;teaching mode is traditional and lack of pertinence,the activities is monotonous after class.Finally,we propose targeted solutions from three aspects: school,teachers,teaching,These suggestions can provide reference solutions for Chinese teaching of this teaching site to non-Chinese students,to help it improve the actual Chinese teaching effect in the future.
