The grammatical functions of the same morpheme words "foreign countries" and"in the foreign countries" have both similarities and differences.The same thing is that they can be interchanged when they are used as subject and object,but they can not be completely interchanged when they are used as attribute and adverbial,and "in the foreign countries" can also be used as complement.The difference between the two is due to the difference of their internal structure,which leads to the difference of their functions."Foreign countries" is a partial positive structure,which belongs to"quasi locational word" and "in the foreign countries" is a position structure,which focuses on the explanation of the square,which is a typical locational word.Therefore,teachers of Chinese as a second language should pay special attention to the grammatical features of these two words.They should not only make a comparative analysis of their mother tongue and target language,but also integrate different styles of teaching methods,so as to help foreign students achieve similar learning effect.This paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which introduces the basic situation of the topic,the research methods and the corpus used,and so on.Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 respectively describe and explain "foreign countries" and "in the foreign countries".Chapter 2 respectively describes the grammatical functions of the two,including the interchangeable syntactic conditions and the non-interchangeable syntactic conditions.Chapter 3 explains the two parts of"foreign countries" and "in the foreign countries" which are closely connected with their internal structure and external functions.It makes extensive references and lays the theoretical foundation for the whole thesis,and demonstrates the conclusion by comparing English and Chinese.Chapter 4 focuses on Teaching Chinese as a second language,investigating the current situation of teaching and research of morpheme words,the common biases of "foreign countries" and "in the foreign countries" used by foreign students,classifying the biases,summarizing and analyzing the causes of the biases,and proposing the teaching strategies and design of "foreign countries" and"in the foreign countries".Chapter 5 summarizes the discuss of this paper.
