As one of the three elements of language,vocabulary plays an extremely important role in people's language learning and communication activities,so vocabulary teaching is one of the priorities and difficulties in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Animal vocabulary in Chinese is a kind of vocabulary with distinct national culture color,reflects the Chinese unique thinking mode and cognitive mode.It is one of the carrier of Chinese culture,especially the zodiac animal vocabulary,because it contains the Chinese zodiac culture,understanding the cultural significance is particularly important for the Chinese learners.This is a key to use the zodiac animal vocabulary correctly.Animal vocabulary teaching of the Chinese zodiac not only involves the teaching of words and Chinese characters,but also is closely related to the teaching of the Chinese culture.Zodiac culture is an important and unique part of Chinese traditional culture,so the corresponding zodiac animal vocabulary also have a unique and rich cultural significance.There is no zodiac culture in English,so the cultural meaning of animal vocabulary in English is extremely different from Chinese.This enables Chinese learners in English-language countries to often produce a variety of partial errors,which not only affect the learning effect of learners,but also cause the communication barriers of learners.This article uses the Chinese zodiac animal vocabulary as the research object.Making a detailed comparative analysis in the cultural significance of Chinese animal vocabulary and relevant vocabulary in English.Based on the partial error corpus of the zodiac animal vocabulary in “HSK dynamic composition corpus” and “global Chinese intermediary corpus”,make a comprehensive analysis of the partial errors of Chinese language learners in semantic,grammar,syntax,form and Chinese characters.And then analyze the reasons of the errors in three aspects: teaching methods,textbook arrangement and learning strategies.On this basis,combined with the practice of foreign Chinese teaching,provide the corresponding solution strategies and teaching suggestions,and finally make a tentative teaching design.
