A Study Of Calligraphy In Jia Pingwa's Novels

Calligraphy is the oldest and oldest art form of the Chinese nation.Since the birth of Chinese characters,the broad sense of calligraphy art has followed.In ancient times,although a large number of calligraphers have emerged in different times,the identity of calligraphers has not been independent from the identity of literati.Calligraphy is the carrier of self-cultivation,social interaction and literary creation of scholars.Therefore,calligraphers are often literary masters,such as Wang Xizhi,Huang Tingjian,Dong Qichang,Zheng Xie and so on.Since modern times,with the change of writing tools,literary creation is no longer relying on calligraphy brush,ink stick,paper and inkstone.Pen,pencil and other writers become the main tools of writing,the practicability of calligraphy declined,calligraphers gradually separated from the literary community,forming two distinct subjects of artistic creation.However,the influence of calligraphy on writers is still widespread,especially for writers with profound classical literary accomplishment,calligraphy is also a tool for them to express artistic ideals and carry personal feelings.Jia Pingwa is a leading figure in today's literary world.His literary career has lasted for more than 40 years.For such a classical writer,Calligraphy was his sideline in his literary creation.Although it belongs to different categories of literary,the artistic pursuit,artistic skills and artistic spirit revealed in calligraphy will inevitably be reflected in his novels,which are also the main reasons for the research carried out.This paper studies art of calligraphy in Jia Pingwa's novels.On the basis of studying Jia Pingwa's novels and calligraphy culture respectively,it explores the internal relationship between Jia Pingwa's novels and calligraphy.Make the calligraphy as a key,help the readers understand the writer's inner world and literary pursuit,and better understand the calligraphy in Jia Pingwa's novels.
