A Report O N The E-C Translation Of Sentences With Casual Relation Of Intel' 2018 Annual Report

The annual report refers to a review and summary of the company's work over the past year as well as a plan and outlook for the development goals and strategies for the next year.The annual report is a kind of official document with objective narration and is featured with a large amount of information and logical expressions.With the ever-increasing economic and trade exchanges between China and foreign countries,the translation of annual reports is of significance for Chinese and foreign companies to conduct business cooperation.However,there are many complicated sentences with causal relation in the annual report,which multiplies the difficulty for readers to understand the text.Therefore,the translation of sentences with causal relation is very important.This translation practice is selected from Intel's 2018 annual report of a listed company.The research target focuses on the identification and translation of sentences with causal relation in the annual report.The author sums up causal relation words and distinguishes sentences with explicit causal relation from sentences with implicit causal relation according to the words.Typical examples of both sentences with explicit causal relation and sentences with implicit causal relation are given and translated from prepositions,verbs(phrases),adverbial clauses and attributive clauses by the means of translation methods,such as literal translation,omission,amplification,and linear translation.Due to the tremendous differences between English and Chinese,there are causal relation words in English but not in Chinese,and it is difficult to recognize sentences with implicit causal relation.Finally,the author makes the Chinese expressions of sentences with explicit causal relation in the annual report more authentic and causal meaning in sentences with implicit causal relation clearer.Through this translation practice report,the translator hopes that the understanding of the translation of sentences with causal relation in annual report can be improved and that contributes to translation research of sentences with causal relation in the future.
