A Study On Self-repair From The Perspective Of Information Stucture

It is inevitable that various conversational obstacles occur in daily conversation,which makes it difficult to continue or change the conversation cycle.Correction is a common effort made by both parties to maintain smooth communication.The information before correction is often incomplete,flawed or at least inappropriate,while self-correction is an effective way to supplement and improve the information mainly by the speaker.In this paper,the process of self-correction is divided into conversational obstacles,guiding words and correcting words by means of segmentation,and the characteristics of self-correction in TV interview context are investigated from the perspective of information structure.Unlike the source of the obstacle,the actual location of the obstacle may occur behind the source of the obstacle.From the perspective of conversation subject and information communication process,conversation barriers can be divided into expression barriers and understanding barriers,which can appear in any link of "extracting information-encoding information-transmitting information-decoding information-receiving information",which can clarify the causes of conversation barriers from the information transmission process.At the same time,according to the corpus statistics,the occurrence probability of obstacles within the speech wheel is higher,reaching 85.41%,taking the position of the speech wheel as a reference.Self-correcting guidance language can be divided into self-guiding language and other-guiding language,and also includes a special case: direct correction without guidance.The number of self-guiding words is large,and the main guiding means are non-lexical means such as pause,extension and non-word filler.However,although the proportion of others' guidance language in self-correction is not high,it has abundant lexical guidance means,such as repetition obstacle source,question element and so on.Generally speaking,the guide language has the function of information transition,but due to its different communicative functions,it also has the function of information acquisition and information confirmation.There are seven basic types of self-correcting strategies: addition,replacement,repetition,reconstruction,interpretation and non-lexical expression.On the basis of the study of obstacles,we further summarize the relationship between the information structure of correction words and obstacle sources into three cases: zero information,alternative information and supplementary information.Finally,the modified language is restored to the overall information structure,and the sequence rules of the predominance of the narrative,the predominance of the unknown information and the predominance of the focus information are obtained by combining the corpus.Finally,from the perspective of functional linguistics,the self-correcting function of information structure is summarized.First of all,self-correction is not only a strong possessory wheel,but also promotes the transformation of the wheel at another level.Secondly,we investigate the relationship between translocation sentences and selfcorrection,and classify the postpositional phenomena of correction words into syntactic categories.Finally,from the perspective of interpersonal function,cooperative principle,politeness principle and media effect of self-correction are discussed.
