A Study On The Vietnamese Modern Chinese Textbook Chuxue Hanyu Kefa

The end of the 19th century,with the French invaded Vietnam,the status of Chinese was swayed in Vietnam,the collision between Chinese culture and western culture appeared in the Vietnamese society.In this background,the Vietnamese modern Chinese textbook Chuxue Hanyu Kefa published in the journal of the south in 1920.The author of the textbook is Mr Tan who is county magistrate of Xuanhua County,Quang Binh Province,Vietnam.This textbook is 10 chapters totally,mainly carried out in accordance with the French grammar of choreography.This paper is mainly to introduce the compiling style,vocabulary,syntax and culture of Chuxue Hanyu Kefa and do some investigation and analysis,trying to present a whole style and features of Chuxue Hanyu Kefa.And then it summarizes the characteristics of this textbook and the book's historical significance and practical significance,in order to enrich the study of early Chinese textbooks in Vietnam.This paper is divided into seven chapters.In the first chapter,the introduction mainly introduces the research reason,research significance,researching status and research methods of this paper.As a modern Chinese textbook,there has little research on the early Chinese teaching materials in the academic circle.The study of Chuxue Hanyu Kefa can not only enrich the research of history of Chinese as a foreign language,especially the research of history of teaching materials for Chinese as a foreign language,but also provide a certain amount of corpus for the development of Vietnamese Chinese research.Second chapter to six chapter are the main body of this paper,the second chapter mainly introduces the arrangement style of Chuxue Hanyu Kefa.In this paper,there is a detailed description on this textbook's colophon,sequence,introductory remarks,directory and main body of this textbook,and then summarizes the characteristic of teaching material in the aspect of compiling style.The third chapter is mainly to investigate the vocabulary of Chuxue Hanyu Kefa,statistics the distribution of the basic vocabulary,general vocabulary and fixed phrases.This paper found that basic vocabulary is more than others,ancient Chinese vocabulary is more than others in general vocabulary words,there also retained a large number of ancient Chinese vocabulary in set phrases,from which we can summarizes that the vocabulary of Chuxue Hanyu Kefa is comprehensive,category and classical.In the grammar point of view,the fourth chapter investigated the distribution of parts of speech of Chuxue Hanyu Kefa.And with the modern Chinese grammar system as a reference,this paper described and analyzed the textbook's grammar system.Through the investigation,it is found that the main vocabulary of Chuxue Hanyu Kefa is content words and function words is less than content words.There are more nouns,verbs and adjectives in the content words,adverbs,pronouns,numerals and interjections are less than nouns,verbs and adjectives,and there doesn't have quantifier system in this textbook.The function words are mainly conjunctions,which has a complete system,auxiliary words don't have a complete system,which are scattered in various lexical examples.The fifth chapter mainly analyzes the example of Chuxue Hanyu Kefa involving cultural points.Characteristics of the country and content involved in the field as the classification standard,to classify and count culture points of Chuxue Hanyu Kefa,and then to describe the emphasis in the content and the cultural characteristics of teaching material.The statistical results show that the cultural points in Chuxue Hanyu Kefa have a national tendency and mainly tend to introduce the cultures of China,Vietnam and Europe.Most of the contents involve geographical overview,historical events,etc.In terms of the setting of Chinese culture,it is priority to Chinese traditional culture.The sixth chapter,based on the contents of the above four chapters,summarizes the features of Chuxue Hanyu Kefa:the content is mainly traditional Chinese classical vocabulary;the structure borrows from the western grammar model;the cultural materials are interleaved with the old and the new,and the Chinese cultures and Vietnamese culture and French cultures are mixed together.The last chapter is the conclusion of this paper,which is used to summarize the research done in this paper and summarize the shortcomings of this paper.
