A Report On E-C Translation Of Mantetsu Newspaper Clippings

At present,there are still many open questions in the study of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in Northeast China.Therefore,it is of great academic value and important practical value to collect,collate and translate the English literature on the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in Northeast China.As an important treasure house for studying the history of that period “Mantetsu Newspaper Clippings” are special newspaper cuttings which had been continuously collected for nearly 40 years in that period,including more than 170 kinds of Chinese,Western language,and Japanese newspapers and magazines.This thesis is a practical report on the translation of some English news reports on the international background of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in Northeast China excerpted from “Mantetsu Newspaper Clippings” Part?Collated by the Institute of Modern History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.This report first gave a description of the translation task and translation process,then made an analysis on some translation cases and finally made a conclusion about the translation practice,with translation case analysis as the main content which pointed out the translation difficulties in this translation practice and the translation methods and techniques adopted to deal with those difficulties.Through this translation practice the author's competence of translation is promoted.In addition,it can also enrich the study of historical materials of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in Northeast China.It is hoped that this translation report will serve as reference guidance for news translation studies.
