With the expansion of the Roman Empire,Egypt on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean became part of the Roman Empire in 30 BC,marking the end of Ptolemaic rule in Egypt,which began to be influenced by Rome politically,economically,culturally,and militarily.This paper summarizes and explores military issues from all aspects of Egyptian society and life under the rule of the Roman Empire.This paper is divided into five parts:the Roman army's deployment in Egypt,the army's establishment,the placement of veterans in the Roman period,the evolution of the functions of the Egyptian army in the Roman period and the summary of this issue.Egypt under the Roman Empire,there was a certain change in the military.Egypt during this period was part of the Roman Empire.The Roman Empire stationed Roman legions in Egypt and also recruited a certain number of legionaries and auxiliary militia in Egypt.Rome can be across the three states of the empire in Asia and Africa,partly thanks to its strong military power,so in place for the empire of her fellow veterans,Rome to take measures for the establishment of a "veteran community" this method is applicable to all provinces within the territory of the Roman Empire,Egypt is no exception.After the establishment of the empire,the functions of the army also changed,from mainly engaging in foreign conquest and expansion to maintaining the security of the Egyptian provinces and suppressing the uprising.
