Nowadays,under the situation of advocating ‘Key Competency',the English teaching in primary schools pays attention to this concept.In the classroom,corresponding measures have been taken to realize English Subject Key Competency.It consists of four aspects: language ability,thinking quality,cultural character and learning ability.Among them,learning ability is the basic one,which has a profound impact on pupil' learning.As a result,many researchers have focused on developing pupils' learning ability.Speaking is one of the second language skills.A student's oral ability directly reflects his comprehensive ability to use the English language.At present,there are many problems in primary school English teaching.From the perspective of teachers,it is difficult to ensure that every student has opportunities to practice oral English due to the limitations of teaching time and classroom resources.In the teaching process,there is too much knowledge explanation.From the perspective of students,a large part of students' oral English learning is limited to reciting vocabulary and text dialogues.It is impossible for pupils to express their personal thoughts.Spoken language is an intuitive display of language input to language output.In recent years,some researches show that learning ability can affect students' self-learning ability and self-education ability.Cooperative learning can promote students' interaction with others.Therefore,this study attempts to explore whether cooperative learning ability can improve pupils' oral English by taking English Subject Key Competency as the cornerstone and cultivating students' learning ability as the center.With the advancement of education reform in China,learning ability is concerned.It can help students choose their learning strategies.Cooperative learning can promote innovation.It can solve the problem that pupils dare not speak English for fear of making mistakes and alleviate the anxiety.It also can promote them to fulfill communicative competence.This study mainly explores the effective application of oral English learning ability based on English Subject Key Competency in primary schools.Therefore,the author puts forward the following three research questions:1)In what aspects does English Subject Key Competency learning ability affect pupils' oral English ?2)How to cultivate pupils' oral English learning ability under the background of English Subject Key Competency?3)Can learning ability improve pupils' oral English?In the experimental class,the author selected articles from the textbooks(PEP People's Education Publishing House fifth grade textbooks).The teachers encourage students to participate in learning activities and adjust learning strategies.Finally,students are guided to accumulate oral materials spontaneously and improve their individual learning ability.Encouraged to cooperate,the students speak more oral English in life.In addition,the author used questionnaires,informal interviews and oral proficiency tests in the research process.By comparing and analyzing the data before and after the experiment,it is found that the test scores and oral proficiency of the experimental class are significantly higher after the experiment.Students have a new understanding of the relationship between learning ability and oral English.Cooperative learning is efficient,which enhances students' mutual assistance and creativity.The opportunities of practicing are increased,and the fluency is paid more attention.The results of questionnaires and interviews before and after the experiment also show that pupils are increasingly confident in oral English learning,and they are more interested in oral English communication.The following conclusions can be drawn: In the oral English teaching of primary school,the cooperative learning ability under English Subject Key Competency plays a decisive role.The implementation of the cooperative learning ability is very effective.It can indeed improve the communication skills of pupils.
