Chinese film and television is not only an important way to introduce Chinese culture in the field of film industry,but also an important way to support Chinese language teaching and cultural activities in the field of the promotion of Chinese language.The internationalization of Chinese language provides a new context for the cross-cultural communication of Chinese film and television,in the way of cultivating a large number of audiences who are interested in Chinese culture and are also able to understand it.In return,Chinese film and television attracts more people to learn about Chinese culture and thus promotes the internationalization of Chinese language.In the process of cross-cultural communication of Chinese film and television,not only the cultural differences influence the outcomes,but also cultural hegemony and the stereotypes people hold towards China and Chinese culture.However,Chinese film and television can still attract many international audiences with its unique cultural features.Based on the analysis of the audience comments of The Wandering Earth from RottenTomattoes,this study tries to find out the characteristics of the cross-cultural communication of Chinese film and television,with further support from the interviews with the students who attend a film course in a university in Beijing.To conclude,this study tries to offer some suggestions for cross-cultural communication of Chinese film and television under the perspective of the internationalization of Chinese language.The cross-cultural communication of Chinese film and television shows the following four characteristics:(1)The content is monotonous.There are many Chinese films and televisions introducing traditional culture,but few revealing the development of contemporary China.(2)The communication channels are lean.The spread of Chinese film and television on platforms such as television,cinemas and internet has been poor.(3)International audiences have difficulty in understanding.The differences in language and culture bring difficulties to the international audiences when they try to understand the content of Chinese films and televisions.(4)The competition in the international market is severe.Influenced by cultural hegemony,Chinese film and television are facing great challenges from other countries.This study suggests in the following three ways for the cross-cultural communication of Chinese film and television:(1)Content.Universal content and unique cultural features are key to attract international audiences.(2)Narration.Explore the appropriate way of narration,paying attention to the aesthetic differences between Chinese and foreign art forms.(3)Combination with the internalization of Chinese language.It's essential to explore new ways of cross-cultural communication of Chinese film and television under the perspective of the internationalization of Chinese language.
