There are 55 ethnic minorities in China,and their different environments and customs contribute to their unique music style.In today's highly integrated ethnic groups,it has become more and more common to apply these ethnic music elements with different styles to music creation.With the rapid development of lute art after the founding of the People's Republic of China,the creation types of lute arpeggios have been constantly enriched,and the combination of minority music elements and lute arpeggios has become one of the important types of contemporary lute arpeggios.In this paper,the author starts from the development process of pipa,sorts out the historical origin and characteristics of different times of pipa,and explains step by step how pipa,an ancient musical instrument,has become what we see now after continuous improvement and innovation.After that,the author sorted out the general situation and types of lute arpeggios,briefly introduced the creation of lute arpeggios in different periods,and classified and summarized the creation of contemporary lute arpeggios from five aspects,thus leading to the theme of this study.In the last part,the author takes three pipa arpeggios in the styles of Yi,Uygur and Mongolian as examples to focus on the analysis,and tries to summarize the application of ethnic music elements in the works and find the value.It is hoped that this study can broaden the research direction of contemporary lute arpeggios to some extent,enrich relevant theories in this aspect,and promote the better development of lute art.
