The Research Of Susanne K.Langer's Artistic Form Theory

This paper,from the perspective of form,systematically analyzes and integrates the art form theory of Susanne Langer,discusses the nature of the theory emphatically,and evaluated the theory as a whole.In addition,the article also demonstrates the value of the theory.First of all,the philosophical thoughts of Whitehead and Cassirer provided rich philosophical soil for Langer's art form theory.The aesthetic thoughts of Bell and Baensch brought complementary aesthetic core to Langer's art form theory.Freud and Arnheim added special psychological structure to Langer's art form theory.It's on the basis of integrating various theories and thoughts that Langer puts forward her distinctive theory of art form.Secondly,“the form of logical” is a red line running through Langer's theory of art form,presenting as “illusory form” and purposing as “emotional concept”.In a word,symbol,emotion and illusion are all unified in “form”,forming the basic system of Langer's art form theory.Thirdly,Langer's art theory is the nature of the art form of ontology,the form of different from traditional aesthetics,Langer's attempts to “logic form” mixed emotion and form,the subjective and objective,abstract and representational binary relation,make the art theory of Langer have mathematical spirit and the overall thinking,it is the integration of the previous art nature theory.Therefore,Susanne Langer's art theory has certain particularity and transcendence.Finally,in the long history of continuous thinking and questioning about the nature of art,Susanne Langer's theory of art form,which has an important enlightening effect on later western literary theories.At the same time,in the Chinese classical aesthetics,we can also find the artistic ideas and thoughts that focus on art form.Based on the exploration of Susanne Langer's art form aesthetics,this paper expands the extension of form aesthetics and promotes the practice research of contemporary art criticism.
