Pier is a kind of small seat without backrest,and it is called sitting pier with abdominal wall instead of legs and feet.Generally,the pier has a large abdomen,small upper and lower parts,and the shape is like a drum,which is also called a drum pier.The surface of pier is covered with silk embroidered fabric as cushion,so it is also called embroidered pier.Archaeological excavation found fragments of green glazed drum shaped piers in Song Dynasty,decorated with drum nails,with bright colors,which proved the existence of porcelain drum piers in Song Dynasty.In Ming and Qing Dynasties,porcelain embroidered pier was popular,with many kilns and large production volume.Most of the existing porcelain embroidered piers were in Ming and Qing Dynasties,rare in song and Yuan Dynasties.In Ming and Qing Dynasties,porcelain embroidered piers were popularized rapidly,but after the late Qing Dynasty,the number of porcelain embroidered piers decreased rapidly.The development and evolution of xiudun also reflected the social politics,economy and culture at that time to a certain extent.As a kind of common furniture in Ming and Qing Dynasties,porcelain pier not only has a large number of areas,rich types and exquisite decoration,but also occupies a unique position in the history of ceramic development and furniture development,so it has certain research significance.The shape and decoration of porcelain piers contain rich cultural information,and different patterns represent different cultural connotations.The technology of porcelain piers enriches the essence of ancient porcelain art.The protection and circulation of porcelain piers in Ming and Qing dynasties also reflect the current situation of cultural relics protection and art market.This paper mainly discusses the following six problems with the methods of on-the-spot visits to historical materials: 1.The development and evolution of embroidered mounds;2.The origin and development of porcelain embroidered mounds,and the reasons for the rise and fall of porcelain embroidered mounds in Ming and Qing Dynasties;3.Combing the origin and varieties of porcelain embroidered mounds in Ming and Qing Dynasties,and making clear the production process of porcelain embroidered mounds in Ming and Qing Dynasties;4.Based on the collection of porcelain embroidered mounds in Ming and Qing Dynasties in museums,combining with Archaeology Unearthed materials and historical documents,mainly on the Ming and Qing porcelain pier type,decoration,classification and other aspects of a comprehensive comb,and then to explore the function of porcelain pier in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and Ming and Qing ceramic furniture culture;5.Understand the museum collection of Ming and Qing porcelain embroidery pier protection and inheritance status;6.Analysis of Ming and Qing porcelain embroidery pier auction market transactions.
