Australia is an old and young country with a long history, but it has not been an independent country for a long time.It has been colonized by the British empire for a long time. After the second world war,it was also deeply influenced by the world hegemon, the United States.Peter Carey grew up in Australia and immigrated to the United States after his emergence in the world literary world.Post-colonization is one of the important themes of his novels. This paper takes Carey's novel as the main research object, supplemented by short story, covering a wide range. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter looks at Australia from the perspective of post-colonial "the other",reflecting the plight of being stared at,demonized and imprisoned in the colonial prison. The rulers depict the colonial femininity, and the marginal characters and nations are struggling.Combining post-colonial and feminist,it focuses on the survival of "subordinate" women in Australia. The second chapter, from gramsci's cultural hegemony and foucault's power discourse theory, analyzes the colonial oppression of Australia, how to overthrow the cultural hegemony and strive for power discourse. The third chapter sets Australia in the background of globalization, and analyzes the impact of multicultural policy by the source of immigration.Created by Australian female characters, adapted for post-colonial use,and analyzed by Peter Carey. This paper studies Australia from the perspective of post-colonial ecocriticism and the national economy in the wave of economic globalization.Look at the edge of the world, full of exotic temperament of Australian literature and art where to go.Through the analysis of Peter Carey's post-colonial novels, this paper sorts out the development context of Australia from being colonized to independence, and finally,it points out the way out of Australia, analyzes the shortcomings of Peter Carey's post-colonial writing, and warns against the tendency of cultural nationalism to the extreme.
