The art of Chinese painting and calligraphy runs through 5,000 years of Chinese civilization. The history of the development of silk painting is also a history of the development of Chinese society. The ancestors passed on their wisdom and skills to us in the form of silk paintings. However, tens of thousands of silk paintings circulating today are aging and decaying at a rate that is visible to the naked eye. These silk paintings are gradually losing their original artistic charm. However, there is no effective means of strengthening protection to protect silk painting relics. Therefore, there is an urgent need to deeply explore the aging mechanism of mineral pigment silk painting and explore a scientific and effective reinforcement method for silk painting cultural relics. In this thesis, silks were treated according to the method carried on by Chinese ancestors.Ink drop experiment was used to figure out the influence of gelatin and alum on the ink infiltration on the surface of silks. Then the natural aging and artificial accelerated aging were performed to study the influence of gum and alum on the aging process of silks. Finally, through the comprehensive analysis of the above experiments, the best ratio of colloidal alum to prepare cooked silk was obtained.Four mineral pigments, namely stone yellow, silver vermillion, stone green and stone green, which were commonly used in ancient Chinese silk painting, were used to paint silks. The artificial aging method was used to explore the effect of pigment on silk during the aging process. Finally, three different reinforcement methods were used to reinforce different aged silk samples. We find that:1.Gelatin has a weaker effect on the aging of silks, but has a greater effect on the permeability of ink droplets during painting;alum has a greater effect on the diffusion of ink droplets, and can make the ink droplets spread evenly on the surface of silks. The disadvantage is that it will accelerate the aging of the silks.Alum also greatly affects the color and texture of silk.In practical applications, when alum water were used to treat silks, the proportion of gum should be controlled at about 2%and the proportion of alum should be between 0.5%and 1%.2.Mineral pigments can delay the aging of silk, and different pigments have different retarding effects. On the surface of silk, the area without pigment is worse than the area with pigments,so the protection of silk art relics should focus on the part without pigments.3.The "alanine/EGDE" reinforcement methods is suitable for untreated silk aging samples. The strength of the strengthened samples is significantly increased, and the colors are almost unchanged. The "alanine/TPEG" reinforcement methods is suitable for the aged samples of silk treated with alum. Its reinforcement effect is obvious. It has little effect on the color of silk painting. However, this method has little reinforcement effect on the aging samples of untreated silk and orpiment pigmented silk, and the colors of the reinforced silks changed greatly. The "silk protein/EGDE" reinforcement method has obvious reinforcement effect on untreated silk, treated silk, and orpiment pigmented silk, and has the lowest effect on color changing. It is the best solution for silk panting reinforcement among the above three methods.
