Vocational education,as one of the most closely and directly type of education in the education system with economic society and production practice,its main task is to cultivate professional technical talents who are engaged in material production and social services.Such technical talents are the indispensable as well as main force to maintain rapid economic growth in China.In recent years,although great achievements have been made in the reform and development of China’s vocational education,and the framework of modern vocational education system has been completed in an all-round way,there are still some problems,such as weak social attraction,relatively backward development concept,outdated personnel training mode and so on.Among them,the most prominent problem of English teaching in vocational school is that students’ English knowledge is out of line with their professional and post abilities.Secondary vocational English education must be able to reflect its professional and service characteristics,improve the practicality of teaching,so that students can not only "learn",but also "use".Therefore,as vocational education workers,we should focus on the establishment of a real application driven teaching reform mechanism,promote the reform of teaching content and teaching methods,and stimulate students’ interest in learning,exploration and occupation through real cases and real applications.ESP(English for specific purposes)is a kind of English oriented to students’ needs,which is related to a specific major or occupation.It can meet the needs of different learners to learn and use English,with the greatest feature of practicality.In recent years,many non-English majors in Higher Vocational Colleges in China have integrated ESP teaching into English teaching,combined basic English knowledge with different professional characteristics,and carried out a series of reforms in College English education and achieved some results,but ESP has not been well applied in secondary vocational schools.This study boldly put forward the concept of "ESP Curriculum System in Secondary Vocational School",and believes that the English Curriculum in the whole secondary vocational school should be an ESP curriculum system which is closely combined with English language knowledge and subject knowledge.In this system,English teaching should serve the subject specialty and employment of learners,rather than just stay in the stage with language knowledge as the teaching goal.Under the concept of "ESP Curriculum System inSecondary Vocational School",this study puts forward specific ideas on the development of ESP curriculum,the selection and compilation of teaching materials,teaching methods,etc.Through the teaching practice,the investigation and research were carried out on the students of two classes of 2018 railway crew major in Hefei railway engineering school,a national key technical secondary school,to verify the scientificity of ESP curriculum system and modular teaching method,and the experimental results were analyzed and discussed.Through the teaching practice and students’ feedback information,it shows that compared with the traditional English teaching mode,the ESP curriculum system in secondary vocational school aims at the current social development direction and the needs of enterprises,which helps to improve the learning motivation and English application ability of secondary vocational school students.Furthermore,it proves the value of the development of school-based teaching materials and the research of teaching methods,and also provides a reference for the research and practice of English Teaching in other vocational education.
