Trait meta-mood intelligence,as an important part of emotional intelligence, reflects the individual's attention to his own emotions, ability to understand and adjust his own emotions. As an external variable, the accent will cause a certain degree of emotional fluctuations for the interpreter in the interpreting process, which do affect the overall interpretation quality.Relevant studies have already put forward some corresponding countermeasures, yet rare studies are investigating how accent affects interpreters' emotions from the perspective of emotional intelligence or trait metamood perspective and thus influencing overall interpreting performance. This paper takes the trait meta-mood theory and Gile's Effort Model as the theoretical framework and uses empirical research methods to explore the correlation between the trait meta-mood intelligence and the interpreting performance. The research is mainly divided into three parts: interpretation experiment(including preexperiment),TMMS survey and feedback interview. Finally, the paper analyzes the correlations between the interpreting performance and the overall trait meta-mood level its three subscales respectively and proposes several suggestions. Here are the findings: 1.The higher the overall trait meta-mood level of a student interpreter, the better and more stable the interpreting performance is.2.Student interpreters with higher levels of Repair and Clarity have more stable interpreting performance.3.Too high level of emotional Attention is not conducive to the stability of the performance.Based on this, this thesis proposes relevant suggestions to improve emotion management and cope with high-pressure interpretation. The conclusions of this study are of referential significance for both students' selflearning and interpreter cultivation, especially in curriculum design and interpretation class teaching. At the same time, the empirical study in which accent serves as an external variable also brings a new psychological perspective to the interpreting studies.
